Aamir Bashir began his career with a small role in Bhanwar TV series. After that he has appeared in few TV commercials. He entered to film industry with the film Armaan in 2003. Before that he has acted in two tele films (Split wide Open 1999 and Doordarsha Srinagar).
Aamir Bashir won his first Screen Award for his supporting role in thriller movie “A Wednesday‘. He played a police inspector role in that movie.
He was casted for the role of Khan’s younger brother in the film My Name is Khan. But it was cancelled due to visa issues to USA. Later Jimmi Shergill was selected for that role.
His directorial debut Harud in 2010 premiered at 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.
