Hrishitaa Bhatt was only 17 years old when Ashoka was offered to her. At the time she was not even sure that she wanted to do films. It was Haasil that brought major turn into her career. She signed “Ashoka” because she was keen to work with Santosh Sivan and was keen on playing the deglamourised role of a Buddhist.
She also did some modeling assignments. She auditioned for the Liril advertising campaign. She was selected and soon became the Liril girl. She was seen in a music video of the Aryan’s. She was noticed soon and was recommended for the lead role in the film SHARARAT (2002). She also got an offer for the film ASOKA (2001) from actor Shahrukh Khan himself. ASOKA (2001) was released before SHARARAT (2002).
Hrishitaa Bhatt is a Bengali. She speaks English, Hindi and Bengali fluently. She was athletic since childhood and believed in keeping fit. She changed her name from Hrishita Bhatt to Hrishitaa Bhatt during the making of her films RAAM (2006) and BIDHATAR LEKHA (2007). She married Shubhashish Mukherjee on 5 May 2010.
Ashoka, Shararat, Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar, Haasil, Out of Control and Ab Tak Chappan six films in 3 years, with big banners and bigger co-stars. But yet she is waiting for one hit. She believes in perseverance and timing.
A student of Kathak and Indian classical music, Hrishitaa had always aspired to daub the greasepaint. But never had she imagined that her career in Bollywood would take off to such a galloping start.
Hrishitaa bhatt was Acclaimed Actress by this Feature Film and continued to work in films like Ab Tak Chappan and Jigyaasa. Her looks resemble the American actress Alyssa Milano.
