Movies have been a passion for Jugal Hansraj since he was a kid. He achieved the status of a star when he was just in school when his song Lakdi Ki Kathi, Kathi Pe Ghoda from Masoom became a rage. Looking at the splendid performance of Jugal as a child actor, many declared him as the next big star of Bollywood. As a child artiste, Jugal did a number of films before he finally grew up to be a young boy set for stardom.

As a lead, Jugal’s first film was Aa Gale Lag Ja with Urmila Matondkar, the same girl who had featured with him in Lakdi Ki Kathi. However for both Urmila and Jugal, the film didn’t do much and both of them set out in search of an identity in Bollywood. His next two films, The Don and Gudgudi did not bring him much acclaim but with Papa Kehte Hain the actor in Jugal had arrived. Though the film wasn’t a box-office major but Jugal was praised by masses and critics for his portrayal of an innocent, cute little boy next door.

The best part about Jugal’s career has been that even though his films did not connect too well with the audience, he has received praise for his work in all the films. The industry has often admitted that Jugal is full of talent but will have to wait to get the right break. Now Jugal was conscious of the films he wanted to do. When Aditya Chopra offered him a role in Mohabbatein Jugal accepted it with the hope of achieving big success. And that decision really helped Jugal as he gained a lot of appreciation for his performance, yet again.

Jugal?s next film is Rajshri Productions. Hum Pyar Tumhi Se Kar Baithe where he has been cast opposite debutant Tina Raana. Again, keeping with the innocent and cute image that Jugal has, thanks to his wonderful face, the role in Hum Pyar Tumhi Se Kar Baithe is that of a modern; yet simple, honest, cultured and subtle guy.

Jugal feels that the role in Hum Pyar Tumhi Se Kar Baithe has been one of his best so far and is also confident that with this film he will finally prove his worth in Bollywood. A star waiting in the wings, that’s Jugal Hansraj!
